More jobs at Capital One and this is a senior-level position for an experienced engineer who can drive technical decisions and mentor others on the team. If you’re looking to grow your career with a team that invests in its engineers, this could be a great next step.
Joining Capital One as a Full-Stack Engineer means working alongside experienced peers on problems that matter to the business, with the kind of scope and ownership that helps a career move forward. This is a full-time position with the stability and benefits that come with a permanent role.
Role Overview
As a senior contributor, you’ll play a key role in the team’s day-to-day engineering work. Typical responsibilities for a Full-Stack Engineer at the senior level include:
- design and build features across both the front-end and back-end of the application
- work with product and design teams to translate requirements into shipped functionality
- write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in peer code reviews
- optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability across the stack
Beyond the day-to-day, you’ll be expected to communicate clearly with teammates and stakeholders, document your work so others can build on it, and continuously look for ways to improve how the team ships software.
Requirements & Qualifications
This is a senior role, so candidates should bring deep, demonstrated expertise:
- experience building production applications across front-end and back-end layers
- strong understanding of APIs, databases, and modern web frameworks
- comfort working across the stack and adapting to different parts of the codebase
- an eye for clean, maintainable, well-tested code
Candidates who don’t check every box are still encouraged to apply — Capital One values demonstrated ability and growth potential alongside a resume that matches every requirement exactly.
Location & Work Setup
This role is based in United States. This is an on-site position, with the team working together in person to collaborate closely on a daily basis. Specific work arrangements and any relocation details will be confirmed during the interview process. As with any on-site role, expect regular collaboration with teammates through a mix of synchronous meetings and asynchronous updates, so strong written and verbal communication matters as much as technical skill.
