About the Role
RBC is hiring a Senior DevOps Developer to join their team in a hybrid capacity. More jobs at RBC and this is a senior-level position for an experienced engineer who can drive technical decisions and mentor others on the team. If you’re looking to grow your career with a team that invests in its engineers, this could be a great next step.
Joining RBC as a DevOps Engineer means working alongside experienced peers on problems that matter to the business, with the kind of scope and ownership that helps a career move forward. This is a full-time position with the stability and benefits that come with a permanent role.
Role Overview
As a senior contributor, you’ll play a key role in the team’s day-to-day engineering work. Typical responsibilities for a DevOps Engineer at the senior level include:
- design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that keep deployments fast and reliable
- manage cloud infrastructure and automate provisioning using infrastructure-as-code practices
- monitor system health, respond to incidents, and drive root-cause analysis and remediation
- collaborate with development teams to improve build, test, and release workflows
Beyond the day-to-day, you’ll be expected to communicate clearly with teammates and stakeholders, document your work so others can build on it, and continuously look for ways to improve how the team ships software.
Requirements & Qualifications
This is a senior role, so candidates should bring deep, demonstrated expertise:
- experience with CI/CD tooling, containerization, and cloud platforms
- familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
- strong scripting skills and comfort operating in Linux environments
- experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices
Candidates who don’t check every box are still encouraged to apply — RBC values demonstrated ability and growth potential alongside a resume that matches every requirement exactly.
Location & Work Setup
This role is based in Canada. This is a hybrid position, combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely part of the week. Specific work arrangements and any relocation details will be confirmed during the interview process. As with any hybrid role, expect regular collaboration with teammates through a mix of synchronous meetings and asynchronous updates, so strong written and verbal communication matters as much as technical skill.
