About the Role
NVIDIA is hiring a Principal System Software Engineer – CUDA Driver to join their team in a on-site capacity. More jobs at NVIDIA and this is a senior-level position for an experienced engineer who can drive technical decisions and mentor others on the team. If you’re looking to grow your career with a team that invests in its engineers, this could be a great next step.
Joining NVIDIA as a Systems Software Engineer means working alongside experienced peers on problems that matter to the business, with the kind of scope and ownership that helps a career move forward. This is a full-time position with the stability and benefits that come with a permanent role.
Role Overview
As a senior contributor, you’ll play a key role in the team’s day-to-day engineering work. Typical responsibilities for a Systems Software Engineer at the senior level include:
- design and develop low-level systems software, drivers, or operating system components
- optimize for performance, reliability, and resource efficiency at the systems level
- debug complex, cross-layer issues spanning hardware and software
- collaborate with adjacent teams to integrate systems-level components into larger products
Beyond the day-to-day, you’ll be expected to communicate clearly with teammates and stakeholders, document your work so others can build on it, and continuously look for ways to improve how the team ships software.
Requirements & Qualifications
This is a senior role, so candidates should bring deep, demonstrated expertise:
- strong experience with C/C++ and low-level systems programming
- understanding of operating systems, memory management, and performance tuning
- experience debugging complex issues across hardware/software boundaries
- comfort working close to the metal in performance-critical environments
- hands-on experience with CUDA
Candidates who don’t check every box are still encouraged to apply — NVIDIA values demonstrated ability and growth potential alongside a resume that matches every requirement exactly.
Location & Work Setup
This role is based in United States. This is an on-site position, with the team working together in person to collaborate closely on a daily basis. Specific work arrangements and any relocation details will be confirmed during the interview process. As with any on-site role, expect regular collaboration with teammates through a mix of synchronous meetings and asynchronous updates, so strong written and verbal communication matters as much as technical skill.
